a memorable vacation

Thursday Kami and Ariana and I went to the cabin. Thursday night, right before we ate supper, someone knocked on the door. We rarely have people knocking. Anyway, the man at the door asked me to come out and talk to him. I did. He said his son was having a bi-polar episode and had pulled a knife on him and his wife. They called 911. The son took off on a bike with the knife and was hiding somewhere in the woods....behind the cabin. He told me to lock my doors and call 911 if his son came to the door. Only problem was I don't have a phone that works in the cabin. Hmmm. We felt sort of safe because there was a sherrif's car at both ends of the road out front. We could see them so we figured they could see us. We kept watching out the window afraid a face was going to pop up at anytime. Eventually the mother came over and said her son had stolen the police car and they were chasing him. We didn't have to worry anymore. Whew. He was finally captured or turned himself in at a firestation in Iowa. I found his shirt in the woods the next day. It was an event to get the heart pumping! The rest of the weekend was grand! Richard arrived Friday afternoon. Mom and Dad came on Saturday morning and Kyle showed up on Sunday afternoon. The sun came out on Sunday. The girls used the paddle boat, the row boat, went fishing, and wading in the creek. They put on a play for me on Friday I think it was and we also roasted marshmallows and had some humorous campfire stories. Oh and Dad and Rich made a shower area for me too! Finally a shower at the cabin!
